Kailey's Bridal Shower

My cousin Kailey is getting married this week and Natalie and I wanted to throw her a bridal shower. Her colors are black, apple green and white. We thought we would keep her wedding colors for her shower and it was actually very easy to decorate, we use apples. What a novel idea!  ;-)

Natalie and I went with a smoothie/parfait "bar." The girls really enjoyed it.

It wouldn't be a bridal shower without games! We had several like "He says, she says." I asked Jake some questions and then at the shower Kailey had to guess what he answered. She did really well, 9 out of 12.
Toilet paper bride seems to be a must! Each team get's a package of toilet paper, tape and 15 minutes to make the perfect wedding dress.

These beautiful girls were the models. Nat and I were the judges and ended up picking....

 Kailey's team!

We played "Who's dat?" We had Merissa make a dvd of different features of Jake and other random people. There were five pictures on each topic (i.e. eyes, ears, mouth, legs, tummy, bum, etc.) and every person at the shower participated. Unfortunately Kailey's friend won the game.... haha! It was a hard game so I don't blame her. :-)

Another game was "Blindfolded bride." It is her wedding night and the lights went out. She has to get ready in the dark.

Natalie and I had a lot of fun planning and decorating and all the girls had fun too especially Kailey! It was a success.

Comfort

We have been so blessed!

Geoff got a raise at work (twice)! The first one was because he has been at the MTC for a year and the second was that he was made a senior officer.

Friday was my last day of student teaching and I had two of the most wonderful people for my mentor teachers. Julie R. (who I have mentioned before) and Amber H. are probably the greatest people I have ever met. They made it a pleasant and fun experience. I have a couple friends who struggled getting along or meshing well with their cooperating teachers and mine was complete opposite. I hope to stay in touch with them for the rest of my life. :-)

We have the best family and friends anyone could ask for! This is another birthday/graduation present. We have been wanting a new one for forever.

We should have put the mattresses together to demonstrate how thick our new mattress is. You can tell the difference by the night stands in both pictures.

City Creek

The new City Creek Center in Salt Lake was incredible. Jen and Brandon went with us. There was an actual creek running through it and Geoff said that it reminded him of European stores because they were all outdoors and connected.

Jenny and Brandon the best couple ever!

There is an "H and M" here and Geoff wanted to go really bad. I guess it's a European store and he loved his jeans when he went over to Germany. We tried to look for some jeans but for some retarded reason the dressing rooms were next to the mens pants and everyone was lining up in front of them. We didn't think it was worth it so we just left. Thankfully in another week we will be back up that way and will get them then.

On Friday I got my sewing machine. I was excited and started a project right away. It was a skirt. It seemed simple enough and thought it would take me no time to get it done. I stayed up till three in the morning trying to finish. Geoff was a good sport and stayed up with me as long as he could and crashed around one thirty. This was the end result!

Another Year Older

April 4th was my birthday and it was actually very uneventful. I went to school to teach and Geoff went to work when I got home until late that night. I got several phone calls and texts to wish me happy birthday though. Monday Geoff threw together a small party for me. My cousin Natalie made me a cake and it was yummy!

I got a pink motorcycle helmet from my hubby! haha! Most people don't think it's a good present but I seriously love it! Now we can go on rides all the time while being safe. I got several looks while carrying the helmet around campus and my friends kept asking me if I had a motorcycle. After all the questions I decided I wanted to learn how to drive it, but I think it might be too big for me. I guess I can always try and see if it kills me.... :-) The funny thing is that I already knew I was getting a helmet for my birthday. One day Geoffrey randomly walks up to me while I was watching TV and wraps a measuring tape around my head. Not obvious at all.

I also got a sewing machine! How awesome is that? My family is too good to me. JoAnne's was having a sell on their patterns for only $2 so I stocked up on some Halloween costumes for the next few years. Geoff also got "Aladdin" pajama pant pattern. He really wanted to and I think it will be good for me to practice on.

Now that I know how to upload a flip video onto blogger in good quality, here is Geoff's birthday party.

First Camping Trip of the Year

The Tuckett cousins went camping this weekend and of course we had fun!

We had a beautiful spot on the other side of the lake near Saratoga Springs.

Kailey and Jake! You can't tell very well but if you look to the left of them, you can see how steep the hill is. Wes took Jonathon and I up there for a better view in his truck.... I was nervous and my adrenaline started pumping but it was fun!

So we went up and over that hill and drove maybe 100 feet and ended up here. Has anyone seen Nacho Libre and those poses? haha!

Natalie and Wes

Here we have Kailey and Jake trying to heat up their pizza from Pizza hut (the rest of us ate chili).

Wes trying to squirt sprite into Jonathon's mouth. To me this camping trip might have been like a boys scout trip. They all reminded me of all the boys I used to hang out when I was younger. They always seemed to be doing weird things. :-)

Here's the whole gang the next morning.
