Geoff's wish

Ever since we got married, Geoff has wanted to get another couch from D.I. or somewhere. I have never really thought much about it. Yesterday we were driving down our street and saw a sign that said "free couches." An apartment complex must have been getting new couches because there were about 30 identical couches sitting on the front lawn. I of course said "NO WAY!" But I knew Geoffrey really wanted one. When you're married you have to pick your battles, and this was one I could deal with.

We went to the store to get some febreze to disinfect it and make it smell better. I also didn't sit on it until we got a cover for it. We haven't mastered the "tucking" in but it looks a lot better.

WASHINGTON

Oh Washington, how beautiful but oh how cold!! I was almost converted to Washington until the cold days came. My body is whacked. My feet and hands are always cold and then I am usually freezing when Geoff is burning up. I get cold so easily, but other than that, we had a relaxing week. We read two books and started on a third while we were in Anacortes. Geoff had a few things he wanted to show me and we started off with Fort Casey.

I have a few pictures of just myself because Geoff said he already had tons of them at the places he took me.

We walked into a room in the fort and we couldn't see anything but we heard men singing. It sounded really cool but as we got closer it was creeping me out. Geoff has been watching Ghost Hunters and it made me think of it.

I saw a lighthouse for the first time! I was really excited because I was obsessed with lighthouses when I was growing up.

I also went on a ferry for the first time. I did a lot of new things. We took the ferry over to Port Townsend. I couldn't really find a welcome sign to Port Townsend so I took these.

We went on a walk and went to the beach right by the house. Kelp is weird. Rubbery and slimy. Although the cool thing about them is that you can use them as whips!

We decided to spend the day in Seattle. Geoff wanted to show me where his family used to live near Alki beach. It was overcast that day but it was still pretty. I liked how you could see all of downtown seattle from the beach. We also had to go eat at Spuds, which I hear is a tradition in the Townsend family. You know how sometimes you order food and it's not as good as your spouse's or friend's and you're jealous? I got the Clam chowder and wished I had just gotten what Geoff had. He got fish and chips, so next time I will know what to do.

The house they lived in! I heard that it was brown and pink on the outside when they moved in and they had a marvelous idea of changing it to blue. When they moved, the new owners had the wacky idea of purple and gray. But as you see the house has had another makeover.

The Seattle Center was fun. We watched the International Fountains and a puppet singing. It was very amusing.

Downtown Seattle

Geoff was disappointed that the water "hallway" behind him wasn't on. I guess he wanted to relive the memory of Jon pushing him in and getting drenched.

Pike Place Market is a MUST see!

We ate dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's house later that night and had a ton of fun! We played some games, laughed, ate some dessert, laughed, and laughed some more. Before we went to their house though, we stopped by the temple. It looked like they were in the process of remodeling when we were there.

Hot dogs and s'mores at Bowman Bay. It was BEAUTIFUL that night, but unfortunately the picture doesn't give it justice.

I have a lot of pictures of Deception Pass. It was gorgeous!

For those who don't know Geoff very well, he is terrified of heights! If you notice how close he is to me in this picture.....

...and how far away he is here! He was booking it! He even made sure that he was closer to the inside of the walkway. I didn't understand because the cars were only a foot away! I thought it was scarier to be so close to cars than being so high up!

Our Journey ended at Grandma and Grandpa Townsend's. I really enjoyed myself. Grandma, Nathan, Geoff and I played some board games as well as Tennis. And I finally got to try the famous cowboy cookies I have heard about all my life.

Great Book!

One day I was looking at all my friends' blogs and my old roommate said that she had just read a really GOOD book. It's called "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." I hold her opinion very high and decided to read it. I thought I was doing a good job at being a wife, but now I understand a little more and hopefully I will be an excellent wife! I tried to find the book online and include a link for you to read it, but you have to buy it in order to read it.

A week with mom

My mom and grandpa came to visit us!! We had an awesome week! It was jammed pack full of family, family and MORE family! Sunday was the baby blessing of Cambree, my cousin Stacey's baby. We all went over to their house after church and ate delicious food. It was rather hot outside that day but we all enjoyed each other's company. Cambree is too precious!

Travis stopped teasing me for a split second to take this picture. Always poking or pinching me.

This picture has a story. My mother wanted to drive by the apartment they used to live in while my dad was going to school at BYU. The funny thing is....my parents lived on the top floor while Geoff's parents lived on the bottom. After going their own separate ways after BYU, the Townsend's moved to Oklahoma to my parents ward and Geoff and I instantly "took" to each other. Weird how everything works out huh? I am truly grateful for all the events that took place because if they hadn't, I wouldn't be married to my wonderful Geoffrey!

The day isn't complete until you play a game. We were laughing SO hard while playing cranium! If you have played, you know what I mean. Watching people act out and sculpt things can be very humorous. It was the first time for my mom to play and she and Travis won.

The second day she was here, we shopped ALL day. I'm not complaining because Geoff hates shopping. We went to several places and my sweet mother bought us stuff. I love it when parents come to visit, especially when they restock your food for you! My mom was busy all week cutting and highlighting hair. Almost all the cousins came over to our place and got their hair done. It was nice of her to share her talent and help us all save a little money with our haircuts this month. While I was getting my hair fixed, Geoff marveled us with his cooking! He made us his famous Schnitzel with cranberry sauce! Mmm Mmm good!

The third day was wet and crazy. The Ker side gathered together to have a swimming party for the little kiddos, but it ended up being a water fight for all the adults. Geoff and I tried to stay out of it, since we were in the "battlefield zone," we got a little wet but not much. The best part was when Travis threw a bucket of water at Ryan and then when Ryan got his Revenge! Ryan decided Travis wasn't cool enough. He picked him up and tossed him into the pool. Poor Travis, he was cold the rest of the night. It the worst when you get wet when you have jean pn and you can do anything about it. After that catastrophe, Crystal, Rachel and Stacey joined in.

Brigham got a little bored of getting wet with water and headed over to the "house" and decided to relax with a mud splash.

Here is sweet little old Grandpa. He had knee surgery in March and they were debating if they should come out to Utah for the week. Thankfully he was doing awesome with walking and everything, the docter said it would be good for him to take a vacation. Leading up to our Condo, we have about 20 stairs and he made it all by himself!! Isn't that incredible?

The Tuckett cousins wanted to see my mom too. What a popular lady!

The whole week my mom has been out here, there have been at least three or four thunderstorms! I always complain that Utah is lame because they NEVER have thunderstorms! I guess Utah proved me wrong! It still doesn't rain as hard as Oklahoma (I miss that SO much) but a little rain is better than no rain.

We were playing soccer and something white fell out of the sky. Nothing was around so we thought it might have been bird poop. Hannah bent over to pick up the soccer ball and something hit her bum! We final realized it was hail. We were determined to keep the game going and we resorted to covering our heads.
