Out in Nature

While my sister was in labor (with all the rest of the family with her) Geoff and I were on our way to go camping! I admit that I was sad that I couldn't be there but at least where we were camping we had cell phone service. I called to check up on her a lot, so I am grateful for that! I was out enjoying nature and enjoying the thought of our new little nephew being born, what a great day! In Utah the leaves are changing colors and looks beautiful on the Mountains that I couldn't resist taking a few pictures. Geoff still can't say Utah is pretty because Oklahoma has intrigued him so much with all the green trees and green fields and hills that nothing can compare...except his precious Washington. In his mind, "NOTHING is better than Washington."

And here are our best friends (our cousins) Natalie and Wes. We Usually end up doing something with them every weekend either camping, playing games or just hanging out. Looks like they were getting our mansion prepared. Wes got an eight man tent and it is really spacious!

Jenna and Wes decided it was a good idea to take a stroll in the mountains. Wes wanted to push over every dead tree he saw and after hitting one with an axe for awhile he accomplished his goal! But don't worry, the tree wasn't this one in the picture.

Our campsite.

Has anyone every roasted starbursts? If you haven't, you seriously need to try it! It is delicious! It makes the inside a liquidy substance and then the outside is a light crispy shell and when you bite into it it is amazing!

Geoff looks so cute doesn't he, with his long-johns showing? haha!

So in this picture it is only 9:30 and I'm already out. Geoff was nice to let me sleep on him for awhile.

New Edition

My sister had her second baby yesterday and I just wanted to post a couple pictures! I was so sad not to be there but I will be home at Christmas and I can't wait!! Here is the cute little family! Ethan was pointing and saying, "baby, baby, baby."

Mommy's belly is empty!

Cute little Zachary.

It was Abby's Birthday Present! Precious little Zach was born on her birthday! He was born at 9:24 P.m. on 9-24 cool huh? That will be easy to remember.

Paramount Day

Today was the first day I was called Coach Townsend! It might sound silly, but I loved it. This morning was the first time for me to teach a lesson to students and it was such a blast! I felt very official with my uniform and whistle. I taught third and fourth graders how to use rhythm sticks. All you do is count out beats and make a routine. We had some flipping and tossing of rhythm sticks as well as throwing. Rhythm is a good motor skill to learn. It was interesting to see different personalities in the children. I guess it is because I haven't been around kids in such a long time. They were adorable though. I might have to change my mind from teaching high school and go to elementary.

To make the day even better, I didn't have any homework. What a plus! AND I only have one class on Fridays. I think the best part of my day though, was going to Wal-Mart and seeing all the Fall decorations. I feel like such a little kid when fall comes around. What is better than Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas? I listened to my first Christmas CD Sunday and Geoff almost died. He doesn't agree with my traditions of starting Christmas early. I can't wait to make pumpkin cookies and pumpkins pies and other holiday treats!

Geoff's favorite part of today was the premiere of "Community," "The Office" and "Outsourced." That was the only time he had to relax. He had to study for a test and then take it. He is always busy with homework. We are total opposites, he has ten hours of homework and usually all I have is Physical activity for my homework.

BYU

School started two weeks ago for Geoff and me, and I will admit for the first time that I LOVE...LOVE my classes! During the summer I changed my major from Exercise Wellness to Physical Education teaching and coaching. I think that was one of my best decisions! My classes are awesome. I have a walking/jogging class (don't be fooled by the name, it is really fun). I have learned a lot of things already, such as race walking, how to properly do a relay, and later I will learn how to run with proper form, etc. I have a tennis class, Exercise Physiology class, Advocacy for Physical Education and then a class management class. Class management is where you get tips on how to teach your physical education students. In two weeks I will start going to an elementary school once a week and teach them motor skills, sports, activities, etc.

Geoff has mixed feelings about school but I think he enjoys most of it. He really likes his religion class, "World Religions." He comes home and tells me all about it and I'm jealous I'm not taking the class too. In his Calculus class he complains that it is too easy right now and he even does other homework in that class.

We both started work last Saturday; we were ticket takers at the BYU football game. Geoff was a little sad because he wanted to be in the stadium to watch some of the game. As for me, I couldn't care less. I don't mind watching it, but it wouldn't be my idea to go to a game. Unfortunately, we don't get many hours with that job. We were expecting to get 20 hours each but it looks like it will be 20 hours together. After I found that out, I got another job handing out flyers. Yippie! I get paid by the flyer and I can go as fast or slow as I want. So I had Geoff help me out this week and it took us 3 hours to finish 500 flyers, which equals $90!!

Best Friends

Melissa came to Provo and stayed with us for a week and we loved it! We had lots of fun but also did a lot of sitting around...like reading the trilogy of The Hunger Games. I was on the first book, Melissa was on the second and Geoff was on the third. They were very enjoyable. I highly recommend them! We also hung out with Austin. Melissa and I haven't seen him since our freshman year of college since he went on his mission. We had our reunion at an elementary school playground and had some fun!

Mel and I wanted to go shopping and Austin called and asked if he could come along. He said he was really bored. I found it humorous because Geoff didn't even want to join us. He dislikes shopping. While at the Mall we met Steve, our new best friend for the week. Mel and Steve decided to be engaged for the week and talked about EVERYTHING, where they were going to live down to how many kids they were going to have. Denny's is always a good place to propose. Although it looks questionable that I am sitting next to Steve while Mel is feeding Austin. Hmm....

We had a decent group that walked to the Y. I loved the exercise and it was very refreshing. If any of you have hiked the Y, you know how difficult it can be sometimes and how big of a reward it is to sit on the Y and look out into the Valley. Mel took the first picture and this was the last time we saw her and her friends on the hike. When we were leaving the Y (after sitting there for 20 minutes) we fianlly noticed them walking up the trail to behold the beautiful sight of the Y. (They were a little slow but at least they didn't give up).

Austin playing his guitar and wearing Steve's Lacrosse helmet. Attractive isn't it?

You can see BYU campus behind us. We were all waiting in our trucks for mel and her group to get down from the mountain.

It was too hot to do anything else but play volleyball and go for a swim! Notice the tan couple and the white couple.

I loved having my melissa with me! I miss her silly quotes and random stories and comments. AND HER DRAMA! What a silly girl!
