A Family Addition

We have a new family member...

It's our new Toyota Rav4. We have actually had it for a few months, just never got around to blogging about it. We love it! Not only did we get a new car but

we will have a new baby to put in the car! Geoffrey and I are going to have a baby!

It doesn't feel real but I'm sure once I start to show it will seem like I have a baby in my tummy. I admit I thought being pregnant would be fun but I realized soon afterwards that it is not a walk in the park. I am nauseous almost everyday but I don't think it is as bad as it could be. My doctor gave me anti-nausea pills so I don't ever throw up, just feel icky. I have the normal symptoms of pregnancy like dizziness, headaches and backaches. We are so excited and can't wait to be parents!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Geoffrey and I had a very relaxing weekend. We had nowhere to be so we spent almost the entire weekend either playing board games, video games or watching movies together. It was way nice because I am used to Geoff always studying. He didn't even pick up a book! Although he does has a lot to catch up on today.  :-) I loved spending every minute with him!

Saturday we thought it would be nice to go check out Geoff's great, great, great, great, great (5) Grandpa, Benjamin Bird.

We also found Adelaide Bird, Elvie and Charles Bird. We don't know how they are related but Geoff is excited to do research and find out.

Monday we went on a beautiful hike up in Pleasant Grove Canyon with Jenny and Brandon. We had a picnic overlooking the valley and could see almost the entire thing. My calves and hips are a little sore but it was worth it.

After spending all morning hiking we went to Seven Peaks for the afternoon. Geoff always resists putting on sunscreen so of course he looks like a lobster. I can't say much for myself because I got a little red too. It just isn't summer until you can go outside and play all day in the sun and water! It finally felt like summer to me and can't wait for the rest of it!

Murder on the Grill

For Christmas, Aubrie gave me a murder dinner game. I totally forgot we had it until a few weeks ago but it turned out well since it was called "Murder on the Grill." It wouldn't have had the same effect if we had the dinner in February.

I had fun decorating and getting our costumes together. It was set in the 50's and we all had costumes so we could become our characters.

I had to do some rearranging in our condo to get the perfect atmosphere.

Geoff was good at gluing the records together and was a fantastic cook! Those hot dogs were perfectly cooked.

I have to say that if we gave out awards for the best actor, Geoff would have won.

For the best dressed couple I would have to give it to Kailey and Jake!

OUR CHARACTERS:

Geoff (Ivan Spudnik)- A Russian  rocket scientist who recently defected to America. He has high hopes of becoming a sucessful American capitalist.

Me (Peggy Sue)- Newspaper gossip columnist.

Jake (Johnny Angel)- A mechanic who can fix anything on wheels.

Kailey (Tiara Diamond)- Tom's (the man who was murdered) pretty fiance and the newly crowned Miss Kansas City.

I didn't get good pictures of the next ones. :-(

Natalie (Bobby Sox)- Tom's sweet little sister and the national hula hoop champion of 1958.

Allison (Barby Q)- the dazzling blond divorcee who's got it all!

Jared (Chubby Cheddar)-A Rock n' Roll Musician.

Everyone had motive and as the night went along we found out that Tom was not a good guy. He was unfaithful and liked to blackmail people.

Finally a graduate

It's been awhile since I've updated our blog! Most of you already know that I finally graduated from BYU! It's been a long journey. I originally started school at BYU-Idaho. I loved it there and would have stayed if it wasn't for my awesome husband who was at BYU. Of course when I transferred he was still on his mission in Germany and Austria so I guess you might say that I took a chance. :-) I had a great experience at BYU-Idaho and made the BEST of friends anyone could ask for. I was there for two years and here are some memories of it.

Since I got into BYU in September of 2008 I decided to defer for the semester.  I started off in Exercise Science...changed it to Exercise and Wellness then to my actual degree, Physical Education. :-) At least it was in the same area. Took some pretty awesome classes....

And once again I made such good friends! I miss them already! Before I could graduate I had to do a coaching internship and student teaching.

The big day! My parents and Geoff's parents were both able to come out and support me. :-)

Geoff only has one more year for his undergraduate so this time next year, it will be his turn!
