Our Relief Society Activity this month was about Family Home Evening. Our goal was to help families get motivated to have FHE every week. We had our very own Susan R. give a short talk about how and what we can do on Monday nights when our families gather together. Here are just a few ideas to help you out.

Couples

Read/memorize each other's patriarchal blessing

Make a family plan/goal sheet

Read Ensign articles

Read Sunday lessons

Family History

Indexing

Make family video journal

Record how you met (both versions)

Call/visit older family members and get stories

Tell/record childhood memories or stories

Fun with Friends

Make something fun together-painting, sculpture, etc.

Play newlywed game

Think of kids names and write them down

Songs-hymns, primary or any other songs

We all made FHE boards. I completely appreciate all my Young Women's leaders, Relief Society and Stake leaders for all the preparation and planning that go into activities. My committee and I painted all the boards and I had to get everything else prepared for the women so that they could enjoy their evening. I have decided that it will be a long time before we do another craft where we have to prepare so much before hand. 

Everyone loved the activity and it was a good turnout. Usually we have about 10-15 people come but there ended up being around 40. 

I even made one for my sister! They were easy and fun to make! If I had enough money I would have made everyone a board. 

Make sure to be consistent with having Family Home Evening! 

Homecoming!

My cousin came home from his mission yesterday! He was in the Monterey, Mexico Mission. He definitely  has an accent and has some trouble saying a few things in English. I know that his family was super excited to see him. Here are a few pictures. We played games, watched Jonathon's slide show of his mission, ate dinner and socialized. I love family. 

Today is my older sisters birthday! Happy birthday Amy! I love you and hope that you have a fabulous day! She is fantastic at planning and decorating events. She pretty much planned my whole wedding reception! She is Wonderful! 

Will you be my Valentine?

I got the best present ever! Geoff kept asking me what I wanted and I told him I didn't care. I'm usually not too picky. He is a really good gift giver. For my birthday last year he got me a Wii fitness game, for Christmas he got me Cake decorating stuff and for Valentine's he got me a weight machine!! I have been bugging him because I have been wanting to lift weights with him twice a week since we got back from christmas break. We haven't been able to because he is always extremely busy. Now I can lift weights at home and not have to worry about a spotter. 

It definitely occupies a lot of space. We had to rearrange almost the entire apartment because we didn't have enough space in the spare bedroom anymore.

I got Geoff and board game that he has been dying to have. We had no official plans for Valentine's day besides going to McDonlad's and ordering off the dollar menu. Thankfully my Grandparents called and they asked to take us out to dinner. We went to Zupas which is my favorite! Other than that we stayed at home and watched the Bachelor. Thank goodness someone...hm hm Michelle....got kicked off finally! It turned out to be a good Valentine's. 

Birthdays....

are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake! It's one of my best friends birthday this week and I wanted to make her a cake since I can't afford anything else. For christmas Geoff got me cake decorating stuff and I wanted to try it out. I took on a big project...at least for me. I have never done a cake like this EVER! It was stressful in the beginning but turned out to be so much fun! 

The same day I decided I was going to make the cake, my Kitchen Aid showed up on my doorstep. It came at such a convenient time. 

Colleen has been my bf for 2 years now and she is the best! She likes gerber daisies, horses, the color pink, cool cars and being with her family. And she is the cutest little pregnant woman.

Bored?

Today I am at school early and have nothing to do. I am going to fill the time by writing on the blog. I apologize if today’s post is boring but I need something to do to occupy my time. I have no homework that needs to be done, no chatting on facebook and nobody to sit and talk to before class.

A more detailed life of Geoff and Alayna….

Tuesday night we went over to Jen, Michael, Dani and Jared’s house for dinner and games. It always seems that they have the best meals when we go over. This time we had some really good Mexican soup. It was a good change because I have been eating awful lately. These past couple weeks have been busy and usually when I get home I am starving and just want to cram about anything and everything into my mouth. Needless to say I have been eating Pringles, pop tarts, (Geoff’s b-day present from his mom-which I am grateful) cookies, chips and salsa and everything else that isn’t a real meal.  So I am grateful for their wonderful meal they prepared for us. Geoff told me a couple weeks ago that we need to have a “game library.” After playing Pirate’s Cove at the cousins’ house, he has decided it needs to be added to the collection. Geoff loves games so I am glad that we can find other people who enjoy games as much as we do.

Recently I have been looking more intensely for jobs and so far, two have already been filled, one lady called and decided I wasn’t the one to pick…and I had an interview today at Boys and Girls Club. There were four of us applying, so I guess it’s time to play the waiting game. It’s hard for me to find jobs that work with my class schedule because I have classes scattered throughout the day and into the evening.

The other day we got a postcard that said that in your birthday month you get a free meal from Tucano’s! I have never been there but everyone tells me how delicious the food is. I have also heard that it is incredible expensive to eat there. Unfortunately the card wasn’t address to Geoff, it was addressed to a Tyler. Does that really matter? Probably not, so we are going sometime this month and getting a free meal!

Geoff is having a hard time remembering things this semester, poor guy. Last night I said, “don’t you have a meeting tomorrow night?” And he said, “I totally forgot! I have two tests to take tomorrow, go to work and then I have a meeting!” The night before that we were laying in bed, ready to sleep, and he got up and had to finish an assignment that was due at midnight. Working 20 hours and being a full time student is a little stressful for him I think.

This is all I can think of to bore you with for now. Hopefully next post will be more exciting!
