Anybody like volleyball? Maybe this will change your mind...

Not mine! As painful as it is I can't help diving for the ball, especially when nobody is willing to go for it. Sometimes I tell my friends that Geoff dreams in kickboxing mode. I have two volleyball classes right now and I am LOVING it! One class is only for 4 weeks and in it we just learn the basics of volleyball in case we have to coach it (my major is Physical Education Teaching/Coaching). My second class is "Coaching Volleyball," which is my favorite class this semester. My teacher is the girls volleyball coach for BYU and he has good tips on teaching your athletes simple and easy techniques. 

Another class I enjoy a lot is Adapted/multicultural P.E. Teaching. Fridays I only have one class and it happens to be the day we get to go swimming in that class. We get to swim with children with disabilities and become their friends. The first week I had a girl who was 12 and she was an excellent swimmer. She also liked being independent. She would keep swimming away from me to go find her friends. This past week I had the cutest little boy who was completely opposite. He was afraid of letting go of me even though he was wearing a life jacket. He kept his arms tight around my neck. I kept trying to make him comfortable with being in the water and asking if he wanted to swim by himself. He absolutely refused! After 30 minutes he became confident and let go of me. He noticed that he was sinking and instantly liked his life jacket. The only bad thing about that, was that it was a couple minutes before we got out of the pool. :-) 

Today is my big sister's birthday! Happy Birthday Aubrie! Hope it was everything you hoped it would be and that you enjoy "The Office." :-) Wasn't she so cute when she was little?

Geoff and I had the best date ever!! We had a whole afternoon to go shopping. We went to Old Navy because they were having a sale where their winter clothes were 90% off. Woohoo! I remember having a conversation with my mother-in-law where she said that she enjoyed going shopping with Geoff because he would go and bring back lots of clothes to buy. It was totally fun shopping with Geoff. He really didn't have any problem finding clothes. We got some church clothes and doesn't Geoff look so cute in his sweater? 

Birthday Man

Today is Geoffrey’s Birthday! 23…weird.  I remember when we started dating at age 16. I remember having a huge crush on him when he moved to Oklahoma when we were 7. Oh how time flies and memories made. I can’t believe we get to continue making memories for the rest of our lives.

Geoff is a wonderful and goofy husband. I could ramble on forever saying how great he his but he doesn’t like being the center of attention. A few weeks ago I asked if I could throw him a party and he really didn’t want one because of that reason. I guess I’m not really being a good wife because I am blogging about him….hmm.

I gave Geoff options for cakes. The options were a pizza, a guitar or a French fry cake. It was a ton of fun making it. It was totally easy too!

The cake was a total hit. Everyone that came to the party couldn’t believe that I made it. I’m just glad that they all enjoyed it, along with the fry sauce. J

We were pretty busy all day. We worked the women’s basketball game and went straight over to Geoff’s grandparents' house. This is what we came home with…..

ANOTHER TV.

We decided to start collecting TV’s now because we have four. We want to get rid of one. If anybody wants one or knows of someone who wants one, let me know. The only problem is that there isn’t a power button on the TV. We do have a remote though.

After the long day Geoff wanted to go to Café Paesan. BEST restaurant EVER! If anyone has heard of Café Rio, it’s the same thing except Italian. If you live in Utah or will be visiting soon, I highly recommend it.

Now we are going to finish up some homework and then play Just Dance again.

To PLaY or NoT To pLaY

Our weekend started off a little slow. Friday and Saturday we laid around doing nothing, thinking that our homework would get done all by itself. Ever since I got home from Oklahoma I have been tired. I don’t know what’s going on but I would like it to stop. I need my energy back! If anybody finds it, please return it!

Sunday was a great day at church. The talks were over time management and I certainly needed that. I find myself in trouble sometimes with balancing school and family. My classes aren’t too extremely hard so I put off doing my homework so that I can spend time with Geoff. Honestly I can do a week worth of homework in two hours because most of it is just Physical activity. Geoff needs a lot more time to do his, so I guess I should not be so extreme with always wanting to do something with him.

Sunday evening we decided to step the energy up a notch and had all the Tuckett cousins come over for a sleepover! We did the usual…talk, played games, and attempted to watch a movie.

For Christmas my sister-in-law got “Just Dance” for the wii and I became a fan! Not long after we got back from Oklahoma I went and bought it. This is what we played for several hours Sunday night, along with stuffing our face with junk food. Octopus junk food.

Duet time! On Just Dance 2 there are songs were it's a duet. The married couples tried it out and it was fun! Natalie and Wes switched roles...Natalie was the boy and Wes was the girl. 

Monday we woke up, ate breakfast and went to American Fork Canyon. Sledding sounding like the perfect ending to a perfect party. 

Yes....that's my husband in the pink snow pants. :-) He is so silly and that's why I love him!

Fast Sunday

For all of you who are LDS know today was Fast and testimony meeting at Church. Fast Sunday is where you don't eat for 24 hours to help you focus more on spiritual things. It is also where the church members from the congregation have the opportunity to stand at the pulpit and bear their testimonies of what they believe/know to be true. I just wanted to quickly share mine with you. I know that families are important. Last Sunday Geoff and I were at his parents house and we had a family testimony meeting. It was a wonderful experience to sit and listen to everyone and how they felt about others in the room. The spirit was so strong and you could tell they all loved each other. Families are important because they help and support one another. I know that my testimony was strengthened and made me want to be more obedient and righteous. We all need to follow the path that Christ has paved for us. He is our example and we need to strive to be more like Him. I know that Christ lives. That is my Savior and Redeemer, that he hears and answers our prayers. He loves us and blesses our lives to an extent that we can't possibly understand. I am truly grateful for the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, to know they are always by my side, always lifting me up. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been restored to the earth through Joseph Smith by revelation and the laying on of hands. I am grateful to have the priesthood in my home. Ever since I was born I have always had the blessing to have a priesthood holder present. I am grateful that Geoffrey is worthy to hold that power and to bless the lives around him. Geoff is such a wonderful husband. He is obedient, kind, loving, sincere, humble, etc. What more could a wife ask for? I have been blessed and I know that if I continue to do my best and serve the Lord that Christ will pour out many more upon my life. Always do your best. He loves you! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

First Christmas together part 2

As I said in my earlier post I took zero pictures of our trip out to Oklahoma so there won't be that many. Christmas morning was sleepless. I felt like a little kid for some reason and kept waking up every hour, so needless to say I didn't sleep very well. At my house we usually wake up to open presents at 5 in the morning so we have time to get ready and go to Bartlesville. This time we didn't go to Bartlesville but we still woke up at 5 a.m. It took us a good hour and forty five minutes to unwrap all our presents. My parents made a yummy breakfast casserole that had eggs, bacon, biscuits, hash-browns and cheese! That's what the Townsend's made too. I guess it's a popular dish.

It was a little after 8 a.m. when we got to Geoff's house and the kiddos could hardly wait for us to get there so they could see what Santa brought them! It was so cute to see them run into the family room with smiles on their faces! They all knew which present was theirs because they ran right to them without hesitation. One of our nephews got excited about absolutely everything! He even got excited if it wasn't his gift. It was adorable! We all took turns opening one present at a time so that we could all see what every got and their reactions. We had to make sure they liked their gifts right?

The rest of the day we sat back and relaxed. That is something I have never done on Christmas. We are always going to grandparent's houses and opening more gifts and playing with cousins. Emily got "Just Dance,"which is my new favorite game....and Geoff's. Geoff usually did a lot better at it than I did! I might have to get that for his birthday. ;-)

The second part of our vacation we spent most of our time with the Townsends. They always had tons of candy and sweets laying around and I think I ate most of it. We played the wii a lot and board games. It was fun to hang out with Geoff's family although I felt bad because I was quiet most of the time. Even though I have known them my whole life practically it was awkward to be my silly self.

My Ker side had a Christmas party a few days after Christmas and it was a blast! A blast mostly because we played volleyball almost the entire time. We played boys against girls. The girls had mostly volleyball players on it but the boys were pretty good too. The girls did try to play by the rules though and the boys... not so much. It was still fun! I can't wait to have my volleyball class this semester!

I love volleyball socks and I think my daddy was making fun of me.....I don't know.....

After all the fun and excitement we played white elephant. Geoff got exactly what he needed!!
