Love of the Outdoors

The last few weeks, the Pete major has done lots of fun things! We have gone Mountain biking, hiking and a ropes course. 

This was our two hour hike. It was beautiful! 

Here is the ropes course. We definitely had an adrenaline rush! Before I did anything I was making myself sick just thinking about it. The first thing we did was climbing up a pole only attached to a tree at the top. Then we walked across another log up above the ground. 

These boys wanted to make it more intense so they decided to blindfold themselves. 

Then we climbed up a ladder and went down a zip-line. 

Emily and Diane raced up and made a record....in less than a minute. 

Last was climbing up a pole and jumping off! The goal was to jump and grab a ring. 

I was a little afraid. As you can tell I am holding the tree. 

Can't wait till next week when we go rock climbing!

Conference Weekend

is always the best. We get to listen to messages from the prophet and apostles of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and we usually get visitors. This time is was my sister Abby. She came down from Rexburg, Idaho to hang out. The first thing Abby did when she got to Provo was eat a J Dawg hot dog and attend the BYU football game. 

She admitted it was a little boring until the very end when we started winning. We had 20 seconds on the clock and won 27 to 24! 

Saturday night while all the men went to the priesthood session of General Conference, Natalie, my cousin, invited us to hang out with her in-laws. It was a super cute idea... we watched The Importance of Being Earnest and had Tea and crumpets! Unfortunately the dough for the crumpets took longer than expected, so the boys had them with us. 

I am not a tea drinker. I had to put tons of sugar in it to taste slightly appealing. Geoff served his mission in Germany and Austria and became accustom to drinking it. He loved it and wants to start drinking it again.

To finish the night off, we played night games outside and stayed the night with the cousins. 

Sunday morning we went over to the Nufer's and had a battle!

We finished watching conference there and had to say our goodbyes to Abby until next time she comes down. It was great to have her and wish she was here in Provo with us! 

No longer

from Oklahoma.  It was a sad day in the Townsend home when we had to finally switch our plates. I was trying to last as long as possible but it eventually had to be done. Every time I am driving I think how everyone now thinks I am a Utah driver. If anyone has been to Utah, you know you don't want to be called that. Utah drivers are crazy but of course Utah people don't see it that way. It might be all the people who have uprooted and moved into Utah (like us) but if your license plate says UTAH you are automatically judged. haha! Lately I have been giving people the benefit of the doubt. 

Red just isn't as pretty as the blue. 

Crafty

Scott H., our good friend, is very handy with wood. I guess he has always been interested in carpentry but wanted to try out carving. As you can tell he is pretty good. He started his own blog and makes signs for anyone who wants one! Ours turned out beautiful! 

I love it. It's our new centerpiece for our dinning table. His blog is nice because he keeps everyone updated on where he is in the process of making your sign. 

Tuckett Tribe

Yay! My family was in town and it was awesome! :-) We loved playing games, shopping and eating food together. They were here for almost a week and I enjoyed every minute. 

Amy did our hair and make-up. She gave me a huge poof that I totally loved but Geoffrey thought I came right off Jerseylicious. haha! 

We had all the Tuckett family come over for dinner and games. There were 18 people in our condo, it was snug and fun. It was also Kailey's 21st Birthday. We celebrated it with chocolate!

My poor daddy. He went to the ER because his blood pressure was 200/120. INSANE! 

He was kept for only a couple hours and then sent home. The rest of us played games in the lobby. thankfully his bp didn't get that high again while on his trip. 

It was sad when they left. We went back to normal life. It was great to always have something to do.
