Blessed and cursed

Look at our new patio furniture! My mother-in-law is too good to me! I am blessed to have wonderful in-laws. I have to say that I am grateful to not have the couch out there anymore.

I love to read out here and feel the warmth of the sun. I still haven't had breakfast out on the balcony but that is next on my list.

Geoff got his helmet in the mail this week. Is this a blessing or a curse? A blessing to save money on gas or a curse of DANGER ahead? I guess we will have to wait and see. I can't wait to get one for myself...haha! The helmet makes your head look twice the size it actually is. Looks funny.

Anybody want a motorcycle ride? :-)

Last day

at the BGC. I welcomed it but was sad to think that I will never see my kids again.  :-(  I have been pushed, shoved, spit on, yelled and cursed at, hit, hit on... but also hugged, loved, and became friends with these kids. Since yesterday was the last day of winter Boys and Girls Club (and school), all the children were at the club by 11 am. We had a pizza-, ice cream-, and popcorn party. We had sidewalk art with chalk, movie, gym time, computers, and arts and crafts. It was the most relaxed day ever.

This is Joey. He is the cutest little boy ever! He is the son of one of my co-workers.

Carina, my co-worker.

These girls were my favorite. They were the sweetest things. They always wanted to help out. They all helped me set up for our Life-size clue game last week.

I would have stayed for the summer but they couldn't let me off for more than 2 days. Geoff and I are trying to go to the Townsend Family Reunion and it is important to us to go.

Anniversary Trip

Geoff and I had our 1 year anniversary on May 12th. Geoff and I both had school and then I went to work. When I got back, Geoffrey was at work and didn't get home until nearly midnight. But we decided to make it up to each other by going down to Vegas for the weekend. We stayed with Geoff's brother and even though it was a short visit we had fun.

We played with our niece and nephew all morning and they were easily entertained. Bryce loved making "houses" out of the dvd's.

And sweet little Camyrn was always adorable!

Miranda and Justin took us to the the Hoover Dam. I relate the hoover dam to the movie "Fools Rush In." It's where she drives over the dam and throws a coin over while making a wish. It is definitely huge! Geoff was terrified of how high it was. It took a lot of coaxing to get him to take a picture with me by the railing.

This bridge is where we walked to get a good view of the dam.

Vegas was very windy that day but I loved the heat. Every since we got back to Utah it has been freezing! It rained today and I longed for the hot and dry air of Nevada.

We also went to the outlet malls in vegas. Geoff seems to be wearing everything out at the same time. He has holes in his jeans, socks and shoes. We got some good deals to replace those items. For our first anniversary meal we went to a casino. I went to the bathroom and came back to find him like this....

He said he was really tempted to put a penny in just to say he gambled. He thinks it would be funny. Good thing he didn't. We might not be able to go to a casino again! haha. We ate at Carve . I have to say that it was the best food I have EVER eaten. Delicious! We both had a warm spinach salad, Geoff had a steak and I had chicken and pasta.

We drove the strip on the way out of vegas. We took a picture of the world famous pawn shop from the TV show "Pawn Stars." Tons of people lined up waiting to get in. I wanted to go in but was too lazy to wait in line. Maybe next time we visit.

We stopped at a stoplight and Geoff thought that this was so funny that he had to take a picture. Donuts and Chinese food? Is that really a good combination?

This next picture is for my best friend Colleen. This is where we stayed when we had our spur of the moment trip to Vegas! I stayed the night at her house one night and then at 9 in the morning we decided to take a road trip! Good memories!

Geoff and I didn't want to leave Vegas. It was nice not to worry about homework and to be able to bask in the sun. Thanks Justin and Miranda for letting us stay with you!

Roomie reunion

Geoff and I had a good weekend. Geoff's parents came out and we loved having them here! We were fed very well. Geoff kept saying how full he was, which never happens! haha

We also got to spend the weekend with my old roomies form BYU-Idaho. #9 reunion! I love these girls! I will honestly say that we were blessed to have such wonderful roommates! So wonderful that we still hang out. We had a slumber party at the house and caught up with each other's lives.

Mel made a scrumptious fruit pizza.

Little Miss Katie got back from her mission in March and hasn't changed a bit! She is still the funniest, weirdest and craziest girl I know! She got a sunburn from falling asleep at the pool this weekend and looked like a lobster. All night she kept putting wet washcloths and aloe vera on. She is also very helpful with dishes. :-)

We only had 4 out of 6. Melissa, Meagan, Katie and me. Kara is on the right and she is Meagan's little sister. She came and visited us in Rexburg so we are all good buds. Liz and Kayle, you were missed!

Meg lives in Missouri now because of her husband, he is going to school for chiropractic school. She is also getting her masters, works and teaches violin lessons. She is a busy woman.

We had Sunday dinner together and then had to send Katie back to Idaho. We told each other that every five years we were going to try to have a reunion. In about 2 years it will be our first legit reunion and hopefully everyone will be able to make it.

Easter Egg Hunt

In March Geoffrey and I decided to not doing anything for Easter. A week before Easter I went to Wal-Mart to go grocery shopping and all the decorations and candy were right in front when you walk in. I love holidays and couldn't resist!

Sunday morning I got up early and hid all the easter eggs. I was trying to be nice and let Geoffrey sleep in but I was just too excited! He was so slow! He took a long shower and and he was a slow poke. He finally went out to the living room....I ran after him to see his face, but he just turned right back around to go to the bedroom. I had the Easter basket in plain sight and he still didn't notice it! I had to point it out for him.

Since we decided not to have easter, Geoff didn't get me anything but a few days earlier we went show shopping to get Geoff shoes but I ended up with some instead. I put them in the basket to make it look better.

"How many eggs can you see in the picture?"

We didn't have any plans for dinner until the Ruggles asked to do something. We made out a whole menu and realized that Geoff had to work all afternoon and evening! I was really sad but I made him a plate and took it to work for him. It was my first time to make a ham all by myself. It was very easy and tasty!
