First Camping Trip of the Year

The Tuckett cousins went camping this weekend and of course we had fun!

We had a beautiful spot on the other side of the lake near Saratoga Springs.

Kailey and Jake! You can't tell very well but if you look to the left of them, you can see how steep the hill is. Wes took Jonathon and I up there for a better view in his truck.... I was nervous and my adrenaline started pumping but it was fun!

So we went up and over that hill and drove maybe 100 feet and ended up here. Has anyone seen Nacho Libre and those poses? haha!

Natalie and Wes

Here we have Kailey and Jake trying to heat up their pizza from Pizza hut (the rest of us ate chili).

Wes trying to squirt sprite into Jonathon's mouth. To me this camping trip might have been like a boys scout trip. They all reminded me of all the boys I used to hang out when I was younger. They always seemed to be doing weird things. :-)

Here's the whole gang the next morning.

FHE and Kids?

It was time for family home evening and Geoff started running around the house like a crazy person. He finally came back into the living room with this...

He set them up perfectly so they could listen to the lesson. So obviously Geoffrey thinks we have kids now. I don't know why but I couldn't stop laughing I thought it was so funny! This is what family prayer looked like.

Haha don't we have an awesome life? We play with cartoon characters... and then we blog about it! :-)

Good few weeks

Geoff and I have been having an awesome month! Geoff has been taking an LSAT course to help him prepare for the actual test and it seems like we never see each other. BUT his time away from me has been well spent. He takes a practice test every saturday and every time he scores about 2-3 points better than the last time. His highest score is 168 which I think is great! He would never go around tooting his own horn so I have to. :-) The LSAT is the law school admission test, and the test is out of 180. Geoff also got a 100% on one of his math tests this week. Thankfully I keep myself busy with my student teaching, sometimes I don't even notice Geoff is gone.

Student teaching has been AWESOME! I love teaching SO much! I was placed into two different schools for my student teaching and I love both of the schools. My first school was Diamond Fork Junior High and I totally fell in love with the school. I think what helped was my cooperating teacher, Julie, she is amazing. She was always happy and positive and we worked well together. My students were so sweet, they would give me notes that told me I was their favorite student teacher, and when I left I got lots of candy. Who wouldn't feel special after all that? haha

I am currently at Maple Mountain High School and the curriculum is totally different from the Junior High. Diamond Fork was were I taught sports. Maple is where I teach zumba, kickboxing, step aerobics, etc. I have to tell you that zumba is the best thing EVER! Although some moves I am not very coordinated, I LOVE it. Geoff would say that I am obsessed. I am hoping that whatever school I end up with, they will want someone to teach zumba. Then I will have an excuse to actually get certified to teach it. Zumba is a dance fitness program that was inspired by latin dancing. It also has a lot of hip hop moves (and I'm currently trying to pop and lock it....haha). It says on the mirrors in the dance room, "If in doubt, just shimmy." Let's just say that the first few days of zumba I became a pro at shimmying.

Today has been great! I had mock interviews and it helped me notice my strengths and weaknesses while interviewing. This was a warm-up because this afternoon I had an actual interview for a part-time P.E. teacher. I think it went well and I will find out early next week, cross your fingers! :-) I also bought an airplane ticket to Oklahoma (graduation present from my parents)! Yay! I will be gone while Geoff is preparing/taking the LSAT and I'll be out of his hair. Good thing because I shouldn't be distracting him. He needs to focus. :-)

A Vintage Valentine

Natalie hosted a Valentines Party and the theme was "vintage." She sent out adorable brown and pink invitations with a rsvp card and asked us to dress up in our best vintage attire. Geoff and I dressed up like this...

Everyone else wore jeans. At least Geoff and I got into the spirit of dressing up. :-) I had an awesome hairstyle that took me at least two hours. I made sure to give myself plenty of time to do my hair. But then Geoff's dad Lonny, came into town and took us out for sushi and everyone kept looking at my awesome hair... haha

HAPPY VALENTINE'S!

Reality

Coming home and telling Geoff that I hope he gets to come home early tonight.

"Why?" He asks.

"I have a ton of papers to grade."

"You're a PE teacher, you don't have that much to grade."

... I pull out this stack. And I still have more at school in my office.

I am a PE teacher, but I still have assessments to grade and record. It's a part of life I guess.
